While in New Jersey, I volunteered to teach cooking classes for an afterschool program. I taught 2 age groups, 3-6 year olds and 8-11 year olds.
While in Florida I taught a series of classes designed to help widowers become more self-sufficient in the kitchen. This was taught through the auspices of The Boca Raton Synagogue.
While in Boca Raton I had the opportunity to work with a great group of people that recorded books and other materials for the blind (and dyslexic). Reading for the Blind and Dyslexic (RFB&D) is a non-profit organization that provides accessible educational materials to individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or have dyslexia or other learning disabilities. The organization was founded in 1948 and has since become one of the largest and most respected providers of accessible educational materials in the world.
